Roasted Jalapeño Peach BBQ Sauce

The roasted jalapenos add a medium to medium high level heat  to this BBQ sauce with a subtle sweetness and tang from the fresh peaches. Enjoy with grilled chicken, pork, bbq chicken pizza or any other food you enjoy with BBQ sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1.5 lb. the sweetest organic peaches pitted, peeled and roughly chopped (white peaches if you can find them)
  • 1/2 large sweet onion chopped
  • 2 large garlic cloves minced
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/3 cup organic ketchup
  • 1/4 cup water may add more if necessary after sauce complete if need thinner
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp molasses
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp white pepper
  • 1/4 tsp mustard powder
  • 3-5 roasted jalapeno peppers seeded and roughly chopped (amount depending on your heat preference)

Instructions

  • Melt butter in saucepan over medium heat, then add onion and cook until tender, about 5 minutes.
  • Add garlic and cook another 30 secs
  • Add peaches and remainder of ingredients through mustard powder (excluding jalapenos for now). Bring to boil and then reduce to simmer for 45 minutes.
  • Then add roasted jalapenos and simmer another 15 minutes.
  • Taste sauce and adjust salt, pepper and add water if you need to thin out sauce.
  • Blend sauce with an immersion blender once it's cool enough to handle or transfer to a blender to blend till smooth.
  • Let cool to room temperature and keep in jar in fridge for up to a month.

This recipe makes just under 3 cups of BBQ sauce
