One of the Easiest Recipes you’ll ever make!

Pizza sauce is one of the easiest recipes you can make on your own, especially if you’re already making the effort to make your own homemade pizza from scratch. This is literally the fastest part of the pizza making process.  It’s so easy that if you didn’t even have fresh garlic on hand you could just substitute it for some granulated or powdered garlic, mix the rest of the ingredients together with no cooking involved and voila….you’ve made your pizza sauce in about 5 minutes.

The benefit of making this instead of store-bought is you’re cutting down on additives and extra sodium, so it’s a win win! Just make sure your tomato based ingredients aren’t full of extra sodium and unrecognizable ingredients, for instance, tomato paste ingredients should have only 1 ingredient, tomatoes!

! It’s our new trick to speedy minced garlic.  It will change your cooking experience, trust me! You can see our little spiel on it here. This is not just a shameless plug, this is really one of our favorite kitchen gadgets these days that we can not live without. We went years (no joke) without using fresh garlic for many recipes and just used the bottled minced garlic because it was a time saver, but as you might notice if you use the bottled stuff, you’re missing that amazing warm garlic smell that entices everyone during cooking. We finally got fresh garlic back into our cooking after getting this smart little gadget.

The Sauce…

This recipe makes 2 cups of sauce so depending on your pizza size it should be enough for at least 4 large pizzas. We use about 1/2 cup for each large sheet pan pizza.  What you don’t use immediately for the current pizza(s) you can freeze for future use.
