Sriracha is the condiment with the cult-like following. Who knew a condiment could get such a following. Yes, ketchup, it’s red condiment counterpart is popular in our culture, but it definitely doesn’t hold up the craze like this newer spicier red counterpart. People who love sriracha even love advertising their love for it with tee shirts, hats and miscellaneous chachkis. It’s now so popular it’s not only an ingredient in cooking, it sits on tables of casual restaurants across the country, just like it’s 2nd cousins, ketchup and mustard.
Saucing with Sriracha
Sriracha is put on everything from eggs to burgers and tacos, so why not try it with a popular American party side dish, deviled eggs. My husband is a huge fan of the sauce, so he even concocted his own sweet dipping sauce a while back to add a little sweet heat to dishes.

Heat it Up!
I’ve had a weakness for deviled eggs since childhood. I was the kid that used to scarf down a couple deviled eggs at a party and then go right back to the table for a couple more. Now these deviled eggs might not exactly be kid friendly, but if you have a curious kid with an experimental palate as 2 of our kids are, they might actually like them if you make them at the level the recipe is written in. Our 2 more adventurous tasting boys ate 1 only mildly commenting about spiciness, but then asked for a second, so that says something. Our third boy refuses to venture with tasting different things, but oh well. We’ll keep trying to coax him to try new things.
If you’re not making these for kids and are sharing them with people who enjoy a little heat in their eats, add another 1/2 Tbs or so more to the recipe. Just taste your mix before you fill your eggs.
Give these colorful and fun appetizers a try and let me know what you think!
Sriracha Update 2024
I’ve noticed over the last few years the taste of Sriracha has changed, especially the original Huy Fong version. Also, my previously mentioned Organic version has lost it’s edge and taste. As some of you know there was some controversy and cost hike on Sriracha last year.
Since then we have switched our preference to what we now believe to be the most delicious Sriracha out there. It’s the one with the original peppers used to make the original sriracha. This Sriracha has outstanding flavor and kick! It’s our Go To Sriracha now for the best flavor! This is our updated recommendation for the best bang for your buck flavorful Sriracha. If you haven’t tried it yet, you must!
Happy Cooking! Heat up your kitchen with these kicked up Sriracha Deviled Eggs!
Sriracha Deviled Eggs
Equipment
Ingredients
- 6 hard boiled eggs
- 2 Tbsp. Mayonnaise
- 2.5 Tbsp. Sriracha
- 1.5 Tbsp. lime juice
- 1/4 tsp. sea salt
- 1/8 tsp. ground black pepper
- 1/8 tsp. granulated garlic
- 1/8 tsp. smoked paprika
Instructions
- Once hard boiled eggs have cooled, peel eggs and cut lengthwise in half.
- Pop out yolks of each egg half into a mixing bowl.
- Use a fork to mash the yolks well until very smooth or kind of powdery.
- Once your mixture is ready, you can start filling your eggs. If you do not have a piper, use a small ziploc sandwich bag and cut 1 small corner off the bottom of the bag. Pipe the filling into the eggs in whatever style you like. I do sort of a simple twist into it. You should have enough filling to be generous on your piping.
Well, I am inspired to make this recipe for tonight’s family New Year celebration.Sounds good. Will report how it was received.
Glad I read this right before I went to the store! Thanks for the reminder about how to steam eggs, too.
